Iran ‘Crazy Castle’ goes to Singapore film festival

Iranian movie ‘Crazy Castle’ has been set to go on screen at the Iranian Film Festival in Singapore.

Directed by Abolhassan Davoudi, the movie narrates the story of a group of young people who are members of an online community.

They plan to meet each other at an event in a cafe in Tehran. One girl’s urgent need brings six of them together. What starts as a prank continues to unfold into a complicated situation, which reveals new aspects of each character.

Young Iranian actors and actresses Tannaz Tabatabaee, Saber Abar, Saed Soheili, and Nazanin Bayati star in the 115-minute ‘Crazy Castle’.

Meanwhile, Iran Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’ by Asghar Farhadi and ‘Bodyguard’ directed by acclaimed director Ebrahim Hatami-Kia were also slated to go on screen during the two-day program.

The Middle East Institute attached to the National University of Singapore is the organizer of this year’s Iranian Film Festival.

“Gaining more recognition in recent years, Iranian films are rich, diverse, and have contributed significantly to the international film industry,” the event’s website wrote, adding, “With the support of the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we hope to bring you a step closer to appreciating Iran’s nuanced cinematic experience.”
